Programmes

Graphis Arts Production

At the specialization programme Graphic Arts Production masters of engineering are educated for work in the graphic field; prepress, printing and post press. A certain knowledge in other medias is also important, why our students get an overall understanding of media technology more generally.

Many of our former students are responsible for production, quality and technical equipment at companies which produce papers and books. Others work as sales responsibles, technical experts, consultants, etc.

Media Production

Students who choose the specialization programme Media Production get education in the field of non-paperbased medias. This includes text, image, sound, animation, video and multimedia; often interactive distribution channels.

Our former students who graduated from this programme are often to be find in producing companies and as consultants, just like the students from Graphic Arts Production. The type of companies and assignments are the same as above, but the media differ.

Business Development and Media Technology

The programme of Business Development and Media Technology is managed in cooperation with the Stockholm School of Economics. The aim is to educate the students in planning, development, administration, and evaluation of organizations, systems, products and services for media communication.

The programme does not only focus on media companies, but on all kinds of media activity in society.

The Master Thesis

The Master thesis shall consist of 5 months' work and result in a written report and an oral presentation. The thesis is most often done at a company in the media or printing industry. It is also possible to do it at our division or at IMT, the Institute for Media Technology. The thesis is an excellent introduction to the working life for the student and an opportunity for the company to get help from a person with academic qualifications.

The thesis can be of different nature but is normally a study with analyses of equipment, methods or routines within technology or administration.

Types of teaching

Lectures, practical demonstration, laboratory lessons, seminars, study visits, individual projects and group projects are all used in the education. We engage lecturers from our division but also several from the industry and other schools.

Uttryck

Uttryck is the magazine made by the graduate students. It gives experience in project handling and the making of printed matter from editorial work to distribution. Uttryck is normally printed in about 10 000 copies which are distributed to the printing and related industries. The magazine is also made in a digital version.
